Our mixed bed colour changing resin is a mix of nuclear grade hydrogen and hydroxide form resins. The anion resin is a basic gel resin with an indicator dye that changes from blue to colourless as the resin exhausts. The cation component is a strong acid sulfonated polystyrene gel type cation exchange resin. During exhaustion, as the indicator dye changes colour, the appearance of the mixed bed changes from a blue to a light brown/gold colour.
This resin is designed to provide demineralised water with a resistivity in excess of 10 megohms and a zero TDS reading. It is specially designed for use in refillable cartridge applications with clear housings and will provide reef safe aquarium water of the highest possible purity.
Our Mixed Bed Colour Changing DI Resin is sold in economical single-use pouches as well as bulk bags. Packaged carefully in airtight, foil-lined mylar bags to ensure that the resin is not exposed to air which causes it to deplete.
The resin is designed to be used with one of our refillable DI cartridges. This refillable design saves a small fortune over proprietary sealed cartridges.
