Malawi Cichlid Care Instructions

Malawi Cichlids fish require an intermediate level of care, making them a good option for more experienced fish keepers. There are several special care instructions that need to be followed:

  • The tank must be a minimum of 136 litres, and a rocky tank set up is recommended
  • The water temperature should be maintained between 23-29°C
  • The type of diet fed will depend on the specific species, but typically includes plants, insects or meat
  • Cleaning the tank and changing the water is required every 1 to 2 weeks to keep nitrate levels low
